Situation in Thailand: Thailand has been very strict with their rulings and regulations. At this moment about 60 people died from corona/covid-19 virus. Only about 5000 cases are known. For about two weeks new cases are 'close to zero' per day.
Temporary closed: Manora Garden B&B had to close on March 20 this year. We were able to manage all upcoming bookings at that moment and could transfer our guests to save places, places where they were allowed to stay. From April 1, 2020 onwards: no new guest could come to stay at our lovely place. Now we are closed and we are affraid that it will be untill November this year....
Upcoming bookings in July or August?: If you still have a booking with us, please contact us: gerard@manoragarden.com. Everyone can still cancel their booking for the months July & August for free. We will NOT take any money from you!! (Even if bookingsites tell you we will.... NO, it is FREE to cancel!! Really, feel free to do, but please send us a mail also.) (We live in our place and still will be here in July & August and are able to open on demand. In case you need to stay, we can discuss and help you out.)
Enter the country: At this moment it is NOT possible to come to Thailand at all..... There are no international flights coming in, only cargo flights are allowed. There is a small group of poeple that can enter: people with workpermit, officials, Thai nationality. MAYBE the situation will change in Juli. BUT: Thailand wants only people from those countries that allow Thai to theirs... And it must be under control as it is in Thailand. It is almost impossible that European Countries will be on the first list of countries that can come for holiday....
Tourists in Juli or August, IF they can come, what will they experience?: If you can get into Thailand, you MUST follow their regulations: -Two weeks in quarantine in state hotel on own cost (about 20000 baht) Not allowed to go anywhere.... -Most attractions are still closed. At this moment beaches are going to open. But our Manora Waterfall for example is still closed. Many places will not be open in this summerseason. (-When you return to the Netherlands for example: two weeks home-quarantaine also. I don't know for your country.)
Situation in Phangnga: Beaches and beach resorts are still closed at the moment. Villages as Khao Lak are ghost towns. Phangnga-city is still much the same as normal. But when we visit the town we will be checked at every restaurant/shop (temperature) and must register and leave our telephonenumber. Everyone is wearing masks and there is the 1,5 meter distance at all places.
The situation is under control because Thailand had (and has) very strict regulations and checkings. As they are afraid for a second wave world-wide, Thailand will be on high alert in the near future. A holiday to Thailand -if possible- will not be as relaxed and free as you would like....
